A digression: my 1997 SIGHTINGS Edition Portfolio has met with genuinely humbling critical and commercial success but nevertheless I must admit that I have long been frustrated by not making the prints myself. If you look at the details of how those prints were made you'll see that I was working with the finest studio in the country, however the fact remains that the final "performance," or print, was not wholly mine. Over and over I now hear "I can't believe how beautiful these prints are." Again, very humbling stuff.

Bottom line is that I am shooting new photographs and printing those in my Rockport studio. I am also now printing the SIGHTINGS Edition Portfolio prints myself. The SIGHTINGS Edition Portfolio prints are a limited edition series and will continue to be priced as detailed elsewhere.

The new work, the Ralston Studio Editions prints are an open, non-limited, edition and are thus priced accordingly.

Prints are made on 17" x 22" archival rag paper from Hahnemuhle, the legendary German firm making great papers since 1584. I use an archival inkset which imparts a tonal range and visual depth simply not possible before now.
